A theme park turning 25, the announcement of a new attraction, a brand partnership with a major IP. For moments like these, we produce the campaign decor that gives them visual weight, based on your design.
A defined zone that takes on its own theme for a set period, complete with entrance, theming, photo moments and supporting dressing. Once the run is over, the whole zone is fully demountable and stackable for re-use.
Theme park decor production works best when it moves with the rhythm of the park. Opening hours, maintenance windows, logistical routes across the site, busy days and quiet days: we line up the planning with all of that, so that installation and dismantling get in the way of daily operations as little as possible.
Everything is built modular and transportable, with standardised fixings and build books per element, so the decor is easy to install and take down. As a result, two ways of working open up. Either we handle the full installation and handover on site, or we deliver a build kit with clear instructions so your in-house technical team can install it themselves. Together, we work out which option fits the project best.
In both cases we work closely with the park’s technical department and respect the safety standards that apply within your organisation, in line with the standards that industry bodies such as IAAPA set for theme parks.
Good theme park decor production lasts for years. Because we build modular, elements can be stored separately, re-used or brought back in a new arrangement. A Halloween zone standing near the main entrance one year can return in a different part of the park the next. Sometimes rebuilt, sometimes repainted, sometimes serving as the base for a new theme.
The materials we use are mostly timber, supported by EPS, shaping and essentially whatever a park needs. In addition, we produce as sustainably as possible and encourage parks to refurbish or repaint existing decor rather than discard it.
Ideally, we are involved as early as the design phase, so that we can get the most out of reusability and longevity. However, starting work from a finished design supplied by you or your design studio is just as straightforward.
Create does not do the design work itself. Instead, the creative concept comes from the park or its design studio, and that is where it stays. What we add is everything that comes after: the work needed to turn that design into something real.
In practice, that means material choice, production in our own workshop, transport to the park, installation on site, finishing and handover. Theme park decor production calls for a production partner, not a design competitor: parks can keep using their own creative team or trusted design studio without us encroaching on that role. As a result, we take the production work off your plate and make sure the design lands the way it was meant to.
For parks without in-house design capacity, we are also happy to work with design studios from our network. The design stays with them, while the production sits with us.
