A design has to look the part and be buildable on site within the available time. We look at both from the first conversation onwards, working out of our workshop in the Netherlands. What fits together properly in the workshop, goes up smoothly on site.
We think along on materials, construction, finish, transport and installation. That way we turn a creative idea into custom festival set build and take as much off the client’s plate as possible, so the build day on site runs as smoothly as it can.
From design to build kit
The better the preparation, the easier the build on site. You supply a drawing or visual. We engineer it technically, prefabricate the set in components in our workshop and put together a clear build book per project, with numbered components, an assembly sequence and the matching instructions.
That is why everything fits together like a puzzle on location. No searching on build day, no surprises, just follow the build book and put it up.
Who we deliver custom festival set build for
Our clients are festival organisations, large and small, and production companies that handle the technical production for a festival. That can be large dance festivals, but also city or cultural events, food concepts and multi-day festivals where the set has to last season after season.
Some clients only want us to engineer the set, prefabricate it and deliver it to the location. Their own crew or a third party handles the on-site build and strike. Other clients hand us the full trajectory, including build and dismantling on location by our own crews.
Our clients often come to us with a finished design, sometimes with a moodboard or concept. We translate that drawing into a technical work-out and turn the idea into panels and components that fit properly on location. In both cases we look together at what is feasible, what fits within the budget and how we make sure the set is ready on the build date.
Timeline and budget
Our own crews travel along and make sure everything fits the way it was tested in the workshop. Transport and installation are part of the agreement, not an extra concern.
If a design comes in over budget, we look together at which adjustments are possible so that the original design and the core concept stay intact. Sometimes the solution is a different material, sometimes a smarter construction. The starting point stays the same: the idea you came in with remains recognisable in what gets built.

Yes. Create BV handles the full logistical trajectory: from transport out of our workshop to on-site build and dismantling after the festival. We align the planning with the build days and work closely with the production manager or site manager. That way you have one point of contact for the execution.
Reusability is a standard part of our thinking. We produce sets so they are demountable, foldable or modular, depending on what the concept allows. Elements that return season after season we build more robustly than one-off installations. That saves on production costs in the long run and reduces material waste.
We primarily work with wood and sheet material, supplemented with steel, textile and various finishing materials. The choice depends on the design, the desired finish, the on-site conditions and any reuse requirement. Where needed, we bring in our regular suppliers for specialised materials.
Yes. We realise projects domestically and internationally. For international assignments we arrange the logistics and plan the build in coordination with local contacts on site. Production always takes place in our workshop in the Netherlands, so we keep quality control in-house.
Absolutely. We produce both complete set environments and individual elements such as entrance gates, stage fascia, set walls or signage builds. Some clients come to us with one specific component they want realised alongside what they build or rent themselves. That fits perfectly within our way of working.
